From the two Emmetts who served on the Union side in the Civil War to the two great uncles and one grandfather who served in World War I. From one cousin, my father, and father-in-law who served in World War II and my father who also served during Korea.
From my brother and I who served during the Viet Nam war (though we did not go to Viet Nam) and my wife who served in the 70’s. From my daughter and eldest son who did their duty in the Air Force and Army respectively and from my youngest son who serves with the Army as I write. From my nephew who has served these past nineteen years and saw duty in the middle east and finally, the Emmetts who have served that we’ve lost track of (I know of at least one).
